all good things must end

Have you heard the news?

There is going to be

I am not particularly excited about this and that could simply be due to the fact that I do not like change.  When I have something 'down-pat' I like it to stay that way.  However, sadly, in this case I can not.

On July 1st Google Reader will be no more.
What does this mean for you?  Well, it's simple.  If you want to continue following all the hundreds thousands of blogs that you currently follow then you are going to need to do this:

Step 1: head over to

Step 2:

Click on that blue button.  It will then prompt you to enter in YOUR blog address as well as some other information.

Step 3: Wait patiently.  Depending on how many blogs you follow this may take a minute.

Step 4: Add Bloglovin to your Bookmark Bar for quick access

What else does this mean for you fellow bloggers?
Well, all those years of watching your numbers grow like this:

will be no more. :(
There is a widget you can add in it's place though.
If you notice on the top right section of my blog I have one Bloglovin widget.
It looks like this:

{I will be moving it to my "followers" section as of July 1st}

And/or you can add a widget that counts your followers!  This makes my heart a little happy.  I love watching my number of followers grow.  Makes me feel like I'm making some sort of impact in the world {good or bad...your choice}.

All that said.  Click below IMMEDIATELY or you will be one sad puppy come July 1st {that's 11 days away people}!!!

  1. I agree.. I am not liking change either. I just don't yet understand how this will all work?

    1. I'm not sure how this will be better but, sadly, there's nothing that we can do about it. That's what stinks! :/

  2. Done and done! Thank you for posting this and explaining it! The only thing I wasn't able to do is transfer followers, it said that bloglovin couldn't find any, but I have my widget up and followers widget, too! Again thank you!!!

    1. I think you have to install the widget onto your blog first and then go back and "claim" your blog. If you click on the 'heart' on the top right of your home bloglovin page and then click on 'my blog' there is a button that says 'claim blog.' Try that if you have not already. Not sure if that's what will help but it's worth a shot! :)

  3. Thanks for posting about this. I was wondering about how we would count our followers. My heart also swells a bit when I see that number grow. Do you happen to know anything about Feedly? I'm using Feedly to follow my blogs, which I love as a reader. However, as a blogger, how will I know who follows via Feedly? Oh, this is such a mess. Any insights would be appreciated.

  4. Hi - I do not have my own blog and follow blogs I like via email. (I click on the link that says follow by email) Do I need to do anything to continue to follow the blogs I like?

    Thanks for your help!

    1. That I do not know! I think you're good, but I would snoop around on Bloglovin to double check.

I {puffy heart} comments!!!!
