Completely non-school related

I purchased a bridesmaids dress for a friend's wedding and ended up not wanting/needing it. It's a beautiful dress and I don't want to just send it to Goodwill. So.... I'm offering it up for a decent price to all my lovely friends out in blogger world!

It is an Alfred Angelo dress in champagne {couldn't find the picture of it in the right color}, size 2.

It is an A-line sweetheart satin dress with a lace up back that has NEVER BEEN WORN {I tried it on ONCE for a total of 2 minutes}!!!  I bought it for $150 but am selling it for $40! woohoo!

Let me know if you're interested! :)
Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend!

Space

This week we have been learning about space and astronauts and we are L-O-V-I-N-G every minute of it!
It's such a great way to end the year.  I purchased Abby's awesome mini-units on astronuats and the moon and have been creating all kinds of fun little creature.  We also spent some time learning about the rotation of the Earth and the Sun and discussing day and night.
This week we made these cute little illustrations:
I apologize for the awful glare in the pic! We took a small paper plate {the sun} and painted it accordingly.  I found a cute little Earth clipart that was perfect for coloring in.  We printed the word "sun" on the paper plate then drew arrows with chalk around the sun and the Earth to represent it's rotation {it's pointing right which is 'East'... the direction the Sun turns!}

On a side note... I have FINALLY figured out how to convert my documents into a PDF.  Be on the lookout for LOTS of goodies coming your way... FOR FREE!

Happy end to your Hump Day! :)   I have 11 days left and I. Can't. Wait.

quick ocean post

Life has been so crazy these past couple weeks.  We have been busy learning all about the ocean.  Thanks to all the amazing teacher bloggers out there I was able to snag quite a few ideas!  Of course, I did not bring my camera for most of them :(

One adorable activity that I created {completely last minute....my favorite kind} was an activity on the different zones of the ocean.  After reading several nonfiction stories about the ocean and inferring about the different types of animals and plants that can be found in different parts of the ocean we created these adorable zone illustrations.  I had the kids color animals that can be found in each zone with oil pastels then they painted over them with blue water color paint and finally, labeled each zone.

They really turned out super cute!

Our favorite ocean activity was making 'oceans in a bottle'... an activity I found at Bishop's Blackboard.  Be sure to check it out!  So many cute science-based activities!

OH Happy Day!!!

Just a quick share because I'm OVER THE MOON excited!!!   ......   I just signed my continuing contract!!! :)  This is huge because I live in a state (Florida) that is getting rid of continuing contracts for anyone who is not signed by July 1st of this year!  I'm so STINKING excited!
Along with that amazing news, I also just got my confirmation email that I will be graduating Magna Cum Laude with my Master's in Elementary Reading and Literacy.  Just when I was about to pull my hair out, ready for this year to be O-V-E-R, I got the best news ever!

Side note: I promise to upload pics with some fun things that we've been doing in our classroom, just as soon as I have more than 5 minutes to breathe (preparing for my school's Relay for Life event this weekend)!

YAY!!!!

Cinco De Mayo

Even though I am a full-blood American, I love some Cinco De Mayo!  I have embraced the Mexican lifestyle of living a fun, easy going, festive, and loving life.  I love the people, the music, the festivities, the drinks {YUM} and the food {even more YUM}.  I hope that you will have a wonderful afternoon of socializing with good friends and family over some beverages and delicious food and not stressing over the horrible, no good, very bad standardized tests we've been taking this past week!

Here's to a well deserved day of fun! :)

Happy Cinco De Mayo!
