That time again!

PHEW! This week flew by and I'm so glad.  It might because I played hooky on Tuesday.  Much needed and well, much deserved! :)
It's Five for Friday time!!

This week {when I was there} we learned about the symbols of St. Patrick's Day and all about what it means to be lucky!

I am so in love with my bulletin board.  Yes, it's overwhelmingly loaded but it's so cute!  The kiddos did such a great job.  I need some help though....what should I put on the pot?  "Look how lucky we are"....I need help.  Suggestions, PLEASE!
I was going to have the kiddos use their handprints to make the rainbow but I started with some of the boys and well...they blew it! So we quickly went to sponge painting and they LOVED it and they did REALLY REALLY good! Don'tchathink?

Here's a close up of the adorable clovers they made.  This is an inspiration from Sarah Cooley's blog last year {I think}!  Last year, I let my first graders draw their own illustrations, cut around them, and then glue them onto their clover, HOWEVER not so much with the kinder babies.  I pre-made and cut out circles for them to draw four different things they are lucky to have.  They turned out so cute!  Some even wrote what they were lucky to have in addition to their illustration.  Extra "points" for them! :)

Here are the lucky coins.  I.AM.IN.LOVE.
This adorable printable came from one of my newest blogging besties, Kelley {what a great name} from Teacher Idea Factory.  Her packet is so stinkin adorable and even though it was created more for first and second grade, there is plenty that is adaptable for the kinder kiddos!

Click the pic to check out this adorable packet! It's only $3 people and worth so much more!

We also made these cutie-patootie leprechauns!  I make these every year!  These were inspired from the creative genius, Cara Carroll!  What does she do that ISN'T 50 kinds of AH-MAZ-ING?! :)

*********
I must confess.  I just got back from a teacher-kind-of-happy-hour and it was SO much fun!!  I love when we all are able to get a chance to get together outside of school...and when there's a tasty beverage in hand, it's even better!

I'm off to attempt to finish up my Flat Stanley unit!  The new unit is going to be MUCH better than the last and a TON more added to it!  I'm not sure how long I'll make it tonight though.  I did have more than one tasty beverage.  Okay more than two.  I'm lying...three! :)

new kid on the block {and freebie!}

There's a new blog on the block {at least to me} and I am so glad she sent me over to her blog!  Meet Lori from Teaching with Love and Laughter.  She is a 17 year veteran in education and has taught grades PreK-5! With her knowledge and experience she brings FABULOUS ideas to blogland that really keep kiddos engaged and in love with learning!!

You HAVE to swing by her blog and check out her classroom pics!  I am OBSESSED with her writing center posters and anchor charts!!!  Her writing scale and "I can write about" wall is EXACTLY what I've been wanting to incorporate into my writing area and is so stinkin cute!  She also has started her own TPT store that is FULL of wonderful writing activities, center created posters, and much more.  She's also having a giveaway RIGHT NOW!!!!!!
Lori is going to be one to keep an eye on. I can tell she's going to be bringing a lot of wonderful things to this little blog world.  She bursts with cuteness!! :)

After you spend some time checking out her blog and TPT store come on back and snag this number line freebie!  I can't express enough how much this super simple game has really evolved into the "go to" math workstation in my room and has made my sweet firsties really latch on and master addition and subtraction strategies! I know that most of us are visual learners and enjoy seeing pictures of games/centers in action so I PROMISE to do my darndest to remember to snap a quick shot of my kiddos playing the game this week!
Side note: I'm not too happy with the number font selection.  I really was looking for a darker green number font to use and COULD NOT find one anywhere! I'm talking I spent some time HOURS searching the web.  So, if you know where I can find some super cute green number font to better match the clipart PLEASE let me know and I will switch it out!  Also, this number line is being added to my Number Line Extravaganza packet that is available at my TPT store, so if you've already purchased the packet you will need to download the newer version.

I'm so happy there is one week left until spring break!!!!  I can not wait to get my toes back in the sand and to smell like sweaty suntan lotion! :)  I'm hoping to not be translucent when I return back to work!!!

I couldn't wait!

The cloudy and freezing weather helped to keep me inside all day watching some Lifetime and getting my mini unit DONE! So without further ado my
"There was an Old Lady" mini unit!

Click HERE to head to my TPT store!

I don't know about you and your sweet kiddos but mine absolutely LOVE the "There was an Old Lady" series! They seriously can't get enough. They continuously BEG me to get more copies so they can each have a book in their book luggage to read during Daily Five {apparently they think I have a money tree in my backyard}!  We recently did a author's study and compared all the books.  I know my kiddos are going to go bananas when they see the newest book! :)

I hope you all enjoy!  This TPT thing has me feeling all kinds of emotions.  I started my little store to try and earn some money for my sweet little family and to share goodies that I have created for my own classroom. I'm nervous as to if it's going to be worth it or not.  My dream is to hopefully one day get the "cuteness" factor down pat like my "idols" Cara, Deanna, Abby, Anna, Christie, Reagan, Kristin, and SOOOO many more!  We'll see how it goes! :)

Thank you for all your kind words and support!
