Teacher Week with Blog Hoppin

I always love this time of year when everyone is partaking in fun linky parties! I look forward to Blog Hoppin's B2S Teacher Week every year!
I always meet new fun and exciting people :)

Since I participate each year, some of these facts may not be new to you. I tried to find s-o-m-e-t-h-i-n-g new!

The movie, Doc Hollywood, was filmed in my very small hometown of Micanopy. I got to meet Michael J. Fox and Woody Harrilson! (I'll have to snag a copy of the pictures when I go back to my parents house) We also got to watch many of the scenes being filmed, which I loved getting to see all the behind-the-scenes fun!  Which leads me to my next fact....

I orginally went to college to earn a degree in Television Productions.  I wanted to be a part of every aspect of the news/journalism.  My dream job, at the time, was to be a technical director. They are the people yelling in the head phone at the camera men and switching between camera shots. They are the 'eyes' of the show. I liked having that control. I lost interest half way through my second year and, using my gut instincts, I transferred to a new school and enrolled into the education field. Never looking back.

I just recently started using essential oils and they have become a huge part of our lives. Game changer! Plus they smell delicious!! :)

I cheered all through my entire childhood and all the way through high school. We competed a lot. I loved it.  Often miss competitions. I also like to watch Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders on CMT and pretend that I'm one of them! ha

I LOVE lima beans. Weird, I know. I can literally eat a whole can of them...as a snack. Something about the bland texture of those little guys.
I also can eat cans of black olives for any meal.
And top it off with a chocolate chip cookie.

Be sure to stop by Blog Hoppin to join in on the fun!

Meet the Teacher Blogger

I love a good linky party and this one if perfect for this time of year!
I have done {at least} two of these types of posts before but they're always so fun and I love getting to know the people behind the posts/IG pics that I follow.

Hey! My name is Kelly and I am a {in 19 days} 30 year old wife, teacher, blogger, and soon to be mama

This is me and my hubby of 7 years. We've been together for 12 years. That's right you math guru's, we were 18 years old when we first met.  Love that man!

This Thanksgiving we will be meeting a precious little Mister! We are beyond excited to be starting a little family of our own but are also scared out of our minds!

We have two perfect little pups. Okay, they're not so little but they are first babies and they are currently our world. Love fur babies!!!

These are a few of my favorite things…
The color blue. Stripes. Tervis tumblers with cute straws. Red wine. Chocolate chip cookies. Really…all food. Victoria Secret everything. Water {that you swim and lay next to} of all kinds. Traveling. All trash tv. Friends…the tv show. Blog stalking.

If you weren't a teacher, what would you want to be?
Boutique owner and/or blood splatter analyst. Yes, those are two totally different career paths and one is slightly creepy. I promise I'm not a psycho! :)

Three little words that describe you.
Loyal. Outgoing. Funny

Finish the sentence, " ____ said no teacher EVER!"
"I can't wait to sit through another meeting during pre-planning week…said no teacher EVER"  LET ME INTO MY ROOM!

Q: It's your birthday and you can invite anyone {dead or alive} to the party. Who are you inviting?
Jennifer Anniston and Paul Walker

Q: If someone wrote a book about your life, what would be the title?
Margaritas and Monograms

Q: You get to pick one superpower. What is it?
The ability to be invincible.

Q: What's your favorite quote or saying?
"Say what you mean, but don't say it mean"

Q: If you had to sing one song on American Idol, what would it be?
No Doubt "Don't Speak"
That's just the first song that popped up…not the only one I would choose. Pretty much any late 80's and 90's songs! :)

Q: Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I get more stuff done in the morning but I can stay up late some nights.  It all just depends. I'm flexible and it depends on how much coffee I have access to! :)

What's your favorite resource that you've created in your TPT store?
Easy..it's one I am currently utilizing:

But I'm using my new covers:

Share something we might not know about you.

My hubby's parents and my parents actually went to high school and college together and we had never met until we were 18.  He was living in Boston and I was living in Gainesville, FL.  I first saw a picture of him in my local paper.  The article had nothing to do with my town. We met in person a month later after our parents reconnected and the rest is history! :)

Now it's your turn.  Click the link to meet other awesome people and/or link up and join the fun!

AND make sure to check out Blog Hoppin' all week for Teacher Week!!

I'm so excited to join Hadar, Kristen, and Traci in this fun {annual} linky party!
Be sure to grab the button and link up at any of their blogs!

Oh man, this one is tough.  I have a slight shopping obsession when it comes to all things relating to clothing! I guess my favorite right now are my leggings!

I probably have every shade and am working on acquiring every printed legging as well! Ha! They're just so comfy!!

I have to admit.  I don't watch a lot of movies.  The hubby and I just never get around to going to the movie theater.  I did go see The Heat with my momma though and we laughed pretty dang hard!! :)

This is a given to those who have been following my little ol' blog.  If you have, then you also know about my depression which resulted in the ending of my favorite tv series.  My friend has been trying hard to get me hooked on Sons of Anarchy…and it's working!

This is also the same every year…Carrabbas Italian Gril.  Do you have one in your town?  You must try!

Being vulnerable.  This is something that I usually do not allow myself to be, but with the events that occurred this year, I learned to let myself be vulnerable and it felt great.

It was a gift to myself, but I am in love with my MacBook Pro!

Asking me to choose just ONE favorite pin is like asking me to choose a favorite niece.  It just can't be done.  Having pinned well over 1500 things this year alone, I just decided to snag one that was close to the top! ha!

I love this idea, especially for high school {teaching related}.  I am going to do this with my family, though! If you want to see all 1500 of my 2013 pins, you can follow me HERE.

I'm choosing two {can't you tell I'm indecisive}! Kristin did it, too!

Teaching related post:

Personal post:

I selected these two because the teaching one is fun and it's a linky, so I got to read everyone else's tidbits as well, and the personal post shows you exactly what my hubby and I are like {in real life}.  We love to have fun, be silly, and be creative.  We have grown so much since then, too!

I paid off 4 credit cards with my earning from TPT!
You might be thinking…what in the world does she have 4 credit cards for?  What kind of spending problem does she have?  What kind of crap was she spending money she doesn't have on?
Well…when I was first in college, I had zero money.  I was/am a hard worker and worked as a server for six years, many times working double shifts 5 or 6 days a week!  I made good money, but could never get caught up.  SO I did what many immature students do…I opened up a lot of credit cards.  My limits were very low but STILL.  It all added up and I would only pay just above minimum.  I was not good with my money {even though my parents tried}.
My goal for 2013 was to get rid of that 'bad' debt and I did!!!  Still have a little more to go but the bulk is paid. (sigh of relief)

bahaha! I can't stop laughing.  Okay, this picture was taken last week at my school's tacky Christmas party!  I am the Christmas tree!
The jacked girl next to me is a close family friend. She happens to be the bartender where our party was held. Yea, you don't want to mess with her!
There's a better, more clear picture of me on someone's iPhone. (Hint, hint to a certain someone)

One of my besties got married this past July.  Man, I wanna be that tan again!

I would like to reach 1000 followers and add 10 more products to my shop.  I choose 10 because I have 10 ideas for packets written in my little idea book since last year and I need to get to it!  I'm also one to not self-promote but I would like to try a little here and there because I have found that I am able to find so many other amazing teachers in doing this!

Patience.

With the ending of our first pregnancy, I realized that I need to let go and let God.  It doesn't matter when I want something to happen, it's all in God's timing and his timing is always good.  I also need to work on being a little more patience with my struggling kinders.

I had so much fun going down memory lane.  Join in on the linky and read others favorites for the year!

So excited that tomorrow is Christmas Eve!!!!!

Meet *ME*

If you've followed my blog for some time then you've already read a couple of my "Meet the Teacher" posts, but with a new year comes, well, a "new" me! :)
I'm linking up with Blog Hoppin for a little 'meet and greet!'

1. I *love* my hubby.  He is the cream of the crop!

{we never take pictures...this one is from June '12}

We celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary this past June, but have been together for eleven years! We started dating at the ripe age of 18! Can you guess how old I am?! :)

2. We have two pups. For right now they are our 'children.'  Nelly {the small one} is five and Milo is four.  They are not siblings but are the best of friends.  I don't think I could ever own just one dog again! Doggie pals are the best!

This is the 'dog' couch! :)

3. This is my teacher-BFF.  We all have one and she is mine!

I seriously could not survive the year {or day} without her. She's the bride!

4. I have one major obsession with clothes.  Maxi dresses to be exact. If I was allowed to spend my entire paycheck on dresses, I would.  The are so comfy, most can be worn to work and then dressed up for a date night! {I also love versatility}.  I currently own over 20 maxi dresses, but it's never a bad time to add more to the collection! :)  Local boutique shops are my favorites.

5. I have a love affair with all food.  Italian and mexican are my favorites.

I could live on tacos alone!

6. Okay...I lied. Cookies are my favorite food.

I'm especially addicted to Monster Cookies.  I credit this obsession to Cara and her fun little domestic blog, Pearls, Handcuffs, and Happy Hours.  I first saw this delightful recipe there and have been making them nonstop ever since.

7. Dexter is one of my all time favorite shows {along side #8}.

Something about his whole vigil-anti mystique! :) I mean look at that adorable smirk. swoon

8. Friends.  I own every season and every summer I begin watching the series from the very first episode till the last.

It's pretty scary how well I know the show.  I can see a clip and tell you what season and what episode it's from.  Does that make me a geek or weird or just slightly obsessed?

9. Confession.  I have owned a Cameo for almost a year and have never used it. I don't know if it's the anxiety of figuring out how to use it or just my plain old

LAZINESS.  I know, I know...I need to get crackin'!

10.  My hubby and I are....

EXPECTING! Yay! I am currently 8 weeks along so don't want to get too excited yet, but I just couldn't old back any longer!!! side note: I really want that shirt but it's currently sold out.  Isn't it too cute?!

So there you have it!
Make sure to head over to Blog Hoppin all week long for more teacher fun!
